It never rains in California but girl let me warn you... surprise surprise... Anyone remember that song from the 70s? Well Tessa and I woke up this morning to the sound of thunder....it was wet outside! There seems to be a hurricane near Mexico... Now mind you it's not a deluge that we are used to but wet enough to be slow and steady! Also cool, 73 degrees. The funniest thing is the natives. Running around like they're going to melt. I was entering a CVS (yes they're out here also) and saw an employee helping an elderly lady learn how to use an umbrella. The employee and I entered the store together... Being my usual amused with people self, I started snickering. The young lady laughed also stating she was from Colorado... Those crazy LA folks. I have a memory from last year when Tessa and I were visiting the Getty villa. There was an complimentary umbrella ☔ stand. I kept looking at it trying to figure out what it was there for when I saw some folks shading themselves from the sun ☀. Silly Easterners !
Tomorrow Tessa and I have to drive to Newport Beach at 6:30 am for her last modeling session...then back to Burbank for improv class. Tessa really has imbraced her casting director sessions and lessons. She is more independent and takes initiative. She says it feels good to be working at the LA level.
Taking this time to blog while waiting for Tessa to finish another casting director session now. I am experiencing the same driving times as last year. Driving to a Whole Foods 3.4 miles away took 18 minutes. Not so much traffic as the stop and go driving. As in most cities there are main roads with entire neighborhoods in between. So you are either on a major road with traffic or driving 100 feet then stopping at a 4 way stop. One after the other. It still feels odd driving on famous roads, Beverly Hills drive, Vine, Hollywood Blvd. But overall it feels much more familiar than last year.
